Cpl. Louise M. Nowak speaks with U.S. President George W. Bush on the phone, Dec. 24, 2008, in the Helmand province of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Nowak received the special phone call from the commander-in-chief on Christmas Eve for her excellent performance of her duties as a U.S. Marine deployed. Nowak is a combat engineer with Combat Logistics Battalion 3, the logistics combat element of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force ? Afghanistan.
