A UH-60 Medical Evacuation Black Hawk flown by pilots from 1st Battalion, 214th Air Ambulance, 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), U.S. Army, flies past the RFA Cardigan Bay, Royal Fleet Auxiliary, U.K. Royal Navy, on June 8, 2014, somewhere in the Arabian Gulf. The pilots trained on deck landings during Exercise Spartan Kopis, an exchange between the Cardigan Bay and both the Black Hawk and AH-64 Apache elements of the 42nd CAB, New York Army National Guard. Spartan Kopis was the first time American Apaches worked with a Royal Navy ship to function as its eyes and ears during an escalation of force exercise in conjunction with the USS Thunderbolt, U.S. Navy.
