One of the signs at Camp Williams’ main gate with a view of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains in the distance. With nearly 34,000 acres of arid training space spread across the region’s rugged foothills and valleys, many veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom participating in Panther Strike 2014 said this location serves the Afghanistan-centered scenario well. Camp Williams has hosted the majority of the Panther Strike iterations since the exercise initially took shape in 2003 with a specific focus on human intelligence collection.
