Members of the 326th Quartermaster Company, Newcastle, Pa., set up a Lightweight Water Purification unit (LWP) aboard an amphibious Landing Craft Mechanized boat at Fort Lee, Va., June 13. As part of the Quartermaster Liquid Logistics Exercise, the 326th worked with Army Reserve watercraft operators of the 464th Transportation Company, Fort Belvoir, Va., to train in responding to natural disasters by rapidly deploying their equipment and treating water from local sources. Within hours, an LWP can produce up to 125 gallons of drinkable water from practically any source.
