An engineer from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, throws a grappling hook while running in order to clear a road so Bangalore explosives can be used to demolish an obstruction during exercise Combined Resolve II at the U.S. Army's Grafenwoehr, Germany training area, June 12, 2014. This is the first time the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division has performed training with the European Activity Set (EAS). The EAS is a battalion-sized group of armored vehicles and equipment pre-positioned at the U.S. Army's Joint Multinational Training Command in Grafenwoehr to support and outfit United States Army rotational forces' abilities to train and perform contingency missions while in Europe.
