Lt. Col. William E. McRae, a native of Cleveland and commander of 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division - Baghdad and Command Sgt. Maj. Steven Payton, a native of Grenada, Miss., and command sergeant major of 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division unveil the battalion colors during a transition ceremony, Dec. 31, 2008, at Forward Operating Base Rustamiyah. The 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, based out of Fort Bragg, N.C., transitioned with Soldiers of the 5th Battalion, 25th Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. The 1st Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment will assist Iraqi security forces in the Al Karradah District of eastern Baghdad during its 12-month deployment.
