An Iraqi army soldier assigned to the 24th Brigade, 6th IA Division, leads a combined patrol with Soldiers assigned to Company C, 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, attached to 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment "Gimlets," 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, through the streets of Abu Ghraib, west of Baghdad, Jan. 9. The IA has increased its presence in the Abu Ghraib Qada (community) to maintain security. Residents welcome the soldiers into their homes as life in Abu Ghraib begins to return to normal.
