Sgt. Chris Chamberlain, a martial arts instructor, initiates a pugil stick match between two recruits of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, during training July 15, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. Pugil stick training simulates close-quarters combat with rifles fixed with bayonets.
