A service member with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force asks a question July 11 during a command and staff course held at the Camp Courtney theater. The course gave the officers a better understanding of the III Marine Expeditionary Force and Operation Damayan, the humanitarian and disaster relief response following the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan, which struck the Philippines November 8, 2013. The service member is an officer and student at the JGSDF Staff College.
