The event united members of the JGSDF 15th Brigade and U.S. service members and federal employees stationed on Okinawa. The training used assessments of past disasters, operations and exercises to stage and rehearse the day’s scenario, according to Oishi. Oishi is a liaison with the Liaison Office, 15th Brigade, JGSDF. Detata is a Los Gatos, California, native and chief of the Okinawa Area Field Office, U.S. Forces Japan.
