Helland, the commander of U.S. Marine Forces Central Command, visited the Marines of 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment (Reinforced) and Combat Logistics Battalion 3, the ground and logistics combat elements of Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force - Afghanistan, to speak with them about the ongoing progress in southern Afghanistan. U.S. Marines are in Afghanistan to reinforce success and sustain the momentum of the ongoing progress in counterinsurgency operations by alliance forces.
