A Sailor aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS John Paul Jones (DDG 53) supervises as the ship arrives at its new home port Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam following a home port swap with the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG 70). The move allows USS Lake Erie to proceed to San Diego for a scheduled, extended docking ship repair availability. Equipped with updated advanced Aegis capabilities, USS John Paul Jones will operate as a rotational ballistics missile defense deployer, and testing ship, as part of a long-range U.S. commitment to the security and stability of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
