A student from the Mokren Village Slantse Kindergarten School gives U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Brian Hemphill a high-five during a school fieldtrip to the Novo Selo Training Area, Bulgaria Aug. 7. U.S. Marines and soldiers participating in exercise Platinum Lion 14-2 provided the students with a tour of military vehicles and equipment. Platinum Lion is an annually-scheduled training engagement that promotes and strengthens interoperability between regional partners, allies and U.S. forces through multilateral familiarization and training. Exercise Platinum Lion 14-2 includes U.S. Marines and sailors from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, as well as soldiers from Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia.
