Mail is delivered to the depot post office Aug. 11, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. Marine postal clerks sort through hundreds of pounds of mail each day to ensure they reach the recruits in training in a timely manner. Most recruits’ only connection to the outside world during their 13 weeks on Parris Island is through letters from friends and family. To ensure mail reaches recruits, Marine postal clerks stress the importance proper packaging and addressing to include a full name, full unit name, post office box and return address. (Photo by Cpl.
