    This female wood duck paddles in Wood Duck Pond, one of the features of the Lower Chain of Wetlands in Dallas. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers partnered with the city of Dallas to build this new wildlife habitat, which its primary purpose is to manage flood risk for the Dallas Floodway System as an alternate channel to the nearby Trinity River.
