Maj. Gen. John R. O'Connor (left), Commanding general of the 21st Theater Sustainment Command, shares lunch and laughs with Col. Dave Brown (middle), the outgoing Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base Regional Support Element officer in charge, Col. Ronald Bahr, director of the Black Sea Area Support Team, and other MK staff during a visit of the transit air base conducted Aug. 26. The visit also provided O’Connor an opportunity to welcome the new RSE OIC, Col Kevin Mulvihill, and gain insight while providing direction on current and future base operations. In February 2014, MK Air Base assumed the bulk of the passenger transit mission for Soldiers and Marines deploying into and out of Afghanistan.
