CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq -- Gen. Richard A. Cody, Vice Chief of Staff, U.S. Army, poses with members of the Personal Security Detachment, Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, after awarding them the Combat Action Badge during a ceremony Monday at the Ironhorse Conference Center.
Cody presented combat action badges to 16 Soldiers, who ranged in rank from private to brigadier general. Among the recipients were members of the assistant division commander (maneuver)'s personal security detachment, who are assigned to Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, for their actions taken when their convoy was struck by the roadside bomb.
The Soldiers presented the CAB were: Brig. Gen. Thomas Maffey, Maj. Kevin Lewis, Capt. Matthew Fontana, Sgt. Maj. Terry Grezlik, Sgt. David Baker, Sgt. Thomas Brown, Sgt. Michael Duffey, Sgt. Taurean Mathis, Sgt. Jeremy Smith, Spc. Jennifer Lacer, Spc. Jessica Masser, Spc. Joshua Twiss, Spc. Brandon Westenberg, Pvt. 1st Class John Lange, Pvt. 1st Class Michael Pittenger, and Pvt. Joshua Nearhoof.
