Peruvian Marines gather around explosive ordnance disposal equipment at a static display during a tour aboard the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) in Peru, Sept. 1, 2014. The tour consisted of multiple displays showcasing the capabilities the Marines and Sailors with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South bring to the ship. During the ship’s port visit, the Marines and Sailors also participated in a key leader engagement with Peruvian diplomats and military officials and an evening reception held in the ship’s hangar bay. SPMAGTF-South is currently embarked aboard America in support of her maiden transit, “America Visits the Americas.” (U.S. Marine Corps Photo by Cpl. Donald Holbert/ Released)
