U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Anthony Kurta, commander, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa and U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Chris Leins, deputy commander, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, receive a mission brief from Mr Simon Mulongo, director, East Africa Standby Brigade, on Feb. 20, in Karen, Kenya. During their visit, Kurta and Leins also attended the graduation ceremony of 32 military officers from nine East African countries who successfully completed the Peace Operations Support Course conducted by CJTF-HOA. The mission of CJFT-HOA is to conduct unified action with local military forces and governments in Eastern Africa to prevent conflict, promote regional stability, and build regional security capacity.
