U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Anthony M. Kurta, commander, Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, receives a mission brief from British army Col. Andy Mason, commander, British Peace Support Team, on Feb. 20, in Karen, Kenya. During his visit, Kurta also attended the graduation ceremony of 32 military officers from nine East African countries who successfully completed the Peace Operations Support Course conducted by CJTF-HOA. The mission of CJFT-HOA is to conduct unified action with local military forces and governments in Eastern Africa to prevent conflict, promote regional stability, and build regional security capacity.
