Airman 1st Class Andrew Pranzo, 89th Communications Squadron airborne communications technician, and Airman Katherine Rovegno, 79th Medical Wing outpatient records technician, pose for a photo during a hike at Shenandoah National Park, Va., Aug. 10. Later that day, a Virginia man fell about four feet and smash his head on a boulder. Assisted by Tech. Sgt. Jeffery Boyette and Karen Boyette, Pranzo treated a Y-shaped gash in the man’s forehead using Pranzo’s shoelace and a pair of shorts from a small child’s diaper bag. Pranzo then helped the man walk two miles out of the mountains while carrying his young granddaughter. (Courtesy photo)
