Marines with the 1st Expeditionary Force stuff assault packs and tactical gear into the overhead bins of a civilian aircraft taking them home to the United States from Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base. The transient service members redeploying from Afghanistan are some of the 100,000 passengers who have transited through MK Air Base during the past eight months.
