Volunteers at the USO on Camp Courtney prepare lunch Sept. 12 for the grand opening of a new location. The process of establishing a USO facility on Camp Courtney started in 2011 and overcame many obstacles, according to Robin M. Miller, the area director of USO Okinawa. The completion of the USO was made possible by the help of volunteers with the Okinawa Single Marine Program, American Engineering Corporation and USO volunteers. “This facility is going to be completely run by volunteers,” said Miller, from San Antonio, Texas.
