Marines from the U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific Color Guard and police officers from the Palau Police present the organizational colors of MarForPac and the national ensigns of Palau, Japan and the U.S. at the 70th Anniversary Ceremony for the Battle of Peleliu, Sept. 15. Americans, Japanese and local residents were present to recognize the landing that took place 70 years earlier and was known as one of the bloodiest battles Marines had to fight in during their time in the Pacific for World War II.
