A local girl holds the ceremonial scissors before the cutting of the ribbons, during the Urambo Water Well Dedication in Tanzania on March 11. The Urambo Water Supply project was funded by Combined Joint Force-Horn of Africa and included the installation of 14 new boreholes and will provide clean and safe drinking water to approximately 400,000 people. The service members of CJTF-HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
