A teacher grades papers before the Urambo Water Well Dedication in Tanzania on March 11. The Urambo Water Supply project was funded by Combined Joint Force-Horn of Africa and included the installation of 14 new boreholes and will provide clean and safe drinking water to approximately 400,000 people. The service members of CJTF-HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
