Paratroopers from Company A, 2nd Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, dismount from a helicopter during a reenactment of the capture of Thompson Bridge over the river Meuse near Grave, Netherlands, Sept. 17. The capture of the bridge during Operation Market Garden was called the most successful allied action of the entire operation because it opened a major gateway to the Liberation Route. The reenactment was part of the events to help commemorate the 70th anniversary of the operation. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. William Reinier, 82nd Airborne Division)
