Air Force Maj. Kirsten Vitrikas, a deputy surgeon assigned to Combined Joint Special Operations Task Force - Arabian Peninsula in Balad, Iraq, inserts the first of two needles into the foot of Army Pfc. Jason Anderson at a local medical facility. Anderson continued to experience pain in his right foot after surgery and hoped acupuncture will help ease the pain. After insertion, the needles will receive a small electronic pulse to aid in the pain relieving process.
