Located near downtown Honolulu, Hawaii, the Nuuanu Naval Cemetery shown here is part of the Oahu Cemetery, which was founded in 1844. The Navy originally purchased plots in the cemetery in October 1919 and additional land was acquired in 1931. There are 135 Sailors, Marines and some spouses interred in this cemetery. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, many of the dead were buried here. NAVFAC Pacific's Real Estate team visited the cemetery to officially document the property for the Navy.
