Teammates 1st Lt. Kimberly R. Spires, from Austin, Texas, Spc. Stephen D. Oates from Mesquite, Texas and Sgt. Troy D. Johnson from Dallas, Texas, get pumped up before the start of the 5k road march during the 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) Sustainer Challenge at Joint Base Balad, Iraq, March 18. Spires, a platoon leader in Charlie Company, 949th Brigade Support Battalion, Oates, a combat medic with Charlie Company 3rd Battalion, 133rd Field Artillery Regiment, and Johnson, a truck commander for C Co., 3-133 FA, competed with teammates against 22 other six member teams during the two day event.
