Tinian’s North Field served as the central hub of communication during the Valiant Shield 2014 and Forager Fury III exercises by allowing Marine elements on Guam, Tinian and at sea to effectively flow information with the use of expeditionary equipment in an austere environment. FF III is an overarching training exercise involving 1,300 personnel that emphasizes tactical aviation and aviation ground support on a unit level to further develop a distributed, expeditionary combat capability within the Marianas Island range complex.
