    Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling

Retired Navy Lt. Cmdr. James Ogawa, senior naval science instructor at the Osbourn Park High School (Manassas, Va.) Naval Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (NJROTC) provides instructions to members of the Navy’s Ceremonial Guard just before the start of the 15th annual NJROTC Drill Competition at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB). NJROTC color guard units from the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia fiercely competed Sept. 27 for an opportunity to present the nation’s colors at the Navy Ball in Washington. The Ball is attended by the Chief of Naval Operations and other military and non-military leaders. The competition is judged by members of the Navy’s elite Ceremonial Guard. Ogawa serves as co-coordinator of the event. (U.S. Navy photo by Joseph P. Cirone/Released)
