Gunnery Sgt. Juan Padilla, right, Cpl. Christopher A. Degraw, center, and Cpl. Cameron Huntelman work together to quickly set up an OE-254 antenna Sept. 16 in Irai, Palau. The training improved the Marines proficiency in setting up the equipment while also providing communication assets for other training events taking place in the area. The OE-254 is a general-purpose, stationary, omni-directional antenna used to extend the range of tactical FM radio sets. The training is part of exercise T-AKE 14-2, a maritime pre-positioned force, multi-country theater security cooperation event that deploys from Okinawa aboard the USNS Sacagawea to conduct training exercises. Padilla is from Kearny, New Jersey, and is a radio chief with Combat Logistics Detachment 379, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Degraw is from Iuka, Mississippi, and Huntelman is from Los Angeles, California. Both are field radio operators with the detachment.
