Lance Cpl. Christopher A. Degraw, left, Gunnery Sgt. Juan Padilla, far right, and Cpl. Benjamin W. Debottis work together to set up an OE-254 antenna Sept. 16 in Irai, Palau. The training increased the Marines’ proficiency while conducting speed set ups with the equipment. The OE-254 is a general-purpose, stationary, omni-directional antenna used to extend the range of tactical FM radio sets. The training is part of exercise T-AKE 14-2, a maritime pre-positioned force, multi-country theater security cooperation event that deploys from Okinawa aboard the USNS Sacagawea to conduct training exercises. Degraw is from Iuka, Mississippi, and Debottis is from Sheffield Lake, Ohio. Both are field radio operators with Combat Logistics Detachment 379, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Padilla is from Kearny, New Jersey, and is a radio chief with the detachment.
