Section of reef (note healthy, high coral cover to the right) cleaved by the ship's hull, taking away the entire surface reef structure. This photo was taken weeks after the event and show's the result of an extensive algal bloom that started on the damaged susbtrate and is now extending into the adjacent reef area.
