The official party arrives at the chief petty officer's 116th birthday celebration in hangar bay 2 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. Eisenhower's Command Master Chief Petty Officer Bryan Exum stated, "we are taking this day to accentuate the 'S' in 'USN' on a chief's anchors. The 'S' stand for service and it's even more important to serve the Sailors today on our 116th birthday." The Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group is underway for a regularly scheduled deployment in support of the on-going rotation of forward-deployed forces to support maritime security operations and operate in international waters across the globe.
