Students in the five-week Aviation Maintenance Technician MH-60 Airframe & Powertrain course learn how to conduct maintenance on the Coast Guard's MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter: How to select the correct repair procedure, conduct appropriate function checks and complete the repair to return the aircraft to service. AMTs in the Coast Guard may fill a variety of aircrew positions including flight engineer, flight mechanic, loadmaster, dropmaster, sensor-systems operator or basic aircrewman.
