    II Marine Expeditionary Force   

    A Detroit 12V-71 Diesel engine of a Landing Craft Mechanized-8 remains intact prior to routine maintenance conducted by Sailors and civilian contractors working together at Jarrett Bay Boatworks ship yard, Beaufort, N.C., Oct. 28, 2014. Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point has two LCM-8s which are used to transport cargo and personnel to several air station target ranges. The boats receive scheduled maintenance every two to three years to ensure the vessels can sustain their rigorous workloads.
