Sgt. John Joss, a shooter/instructor with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's Paralympic team, speaks about sacrifice during the Housing and Urban Development Atlanta Regional Office Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 4. Joss spoke to an audience of over 150 HUD employees, many of them veterans. “The tree of liberty from time to time has to be refreshed with the blood of patriots,” Joss said. "Our tree is deeply rooted, with a thick trunk; it’s very tall and has wide branches. It was planted and nurtured by the veterans of this nation. The turbulent wind and rain of our enemies will not be able to remove it."
