130618-N-KL846-060 PACIFIC OCEAN (June 18, 2013) - Sailors watch as a landing craft air cushion (LCAC) is towed into the well deck of dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) during an emergency rescue exercise. The exercise is designed to simulate a recovery of a stranded LCAC. Germantown is currently conducting a patrol with the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), the Navy's only forward-deployed ARG in the 7th Fleet Area of Responsibility.
