Soldiers from B Company, 1st Battalion (Airborne), 509th Infantry Regiment, are silhouetted in the Alaskan sun as they transition on the record fire range during nuclear, biological, and chemical training at the Small Arms Complex, June 17, 2013. Qualifying with their assigned weapons while wearing a M40A1 protective mask was the first in a group of tasks the Soldiers completed, including personal and warning equipment use, decontamination procedures, mask maintenance, and completion of the mask confidence course.
