An Army lab reconnaissance team for Joint Forces Command – United Assistance, comprised of members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Soldiers and members of the Armed Forces of Liberia, board a CH-47 Chinook helicopter from 2nd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, Task Force Iron Knight, at an airstrip in Greenville, Liberia, Dec. 4, 2014. The team’s mission for the day was to survey and assess potential sites for a new Army medical laboratory in Greenville, Sinoe County, Liberia. Operation United Assistance is a Department of Defense operation in Liberia to provide logistics, training and engineering support to U.S. Agency for International Development-led efforts to contain the Ebola virus outbreak in western Africa.
