Brig. General Joaquin F. Malavet, commanding general of 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade, addresses Marines with 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment and members of the 7th Singapore Infantry Brigade during the opening ceremony of Exercise Valiant Mark 14.2 aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., Dec 4. Exercise Valiant Mark 14.2 enhances U.S. and Singapore forces combined combat readiness through live-fire and urban terrain training as well as amphibious operations familiarization. The exercise is scheduled to be take place Dec. 4 to 19.
