Military members from Camp Lemonier volunteered during a two-day Community Association of Volunteer project at Lycee High School, May 2. The CAV spent about $1,600 in donations to paint the 1500 square foot court and replace the basketball and handball nets. The service members of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
