After painting the Lycee High School multi-purpose court, volunteers from Camp Lemonier play a friendly game of volleyball with the Djiboutian high school students May 2. "The paint might last a year or two, said Mr. Jilane "J" Duale, Djiboutian International Basketball coach while watching the friendly match. "But the relationships between the members of the camp and the Djiboutians will last a lifetime." The service members of CJTF-HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
