MANAMA, Bahrain -- Capt. Enrique Miranda, Destroyer Squadron 50 (DESRON 50) and Capt. Jeffrey Habeson salute each other during the change of command ceremony onboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Wrangell (WPB 1332) in Bahrain, Mar. 24. Habeson assumed command of Commander, DESRON 50 from Miranda. DESRON 50 coordinates the Navy's extensive regional exercise program for surface combatants, working with coalition forces in the Arabian Gulf region. DESRON 50 is a key element of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/Commander, U.S. 5th Fleet's contribution to maritime security operations.
