MANAMA, Bahrain - Commander, U.S. Navy Central Command/Commander, 5th Fleet Vice Adm. Patrick Walsh, Commander, Destroyer Squadron Fifty (DESRON 50), Capt. Enrique Miranda, along with Capt. Jeffrey Habeson participates in a change of command ceremony aboard the U. S Coast Guard Cutter Wrangell (WPB 1332) in Bahrain, Mar. 24. Habeson assumed command of DESRON 50 from Miranda. DESRON 50 coordinates the Navy's extensive regional exercise program for surface combatants, working with coalition forces in the Arabian Gulf region. DESRON 50 is a key element of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command/Commander, U.S. 5th Fleet's contribution to maritime security operations.
