    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    Lance Cpl. Ivan Gough, from Adrian, Michigan, fires a GAU-21 .50-caliber machine gun Jan. 14 during Lava Viper 15.1-2 at Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii. The Marines practiced engaging stationary targets out of both sides and the back of a CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter. Exercise Lava Viper implements joint service capabilities to include air-sea battle concepts.
