Valerie and Jaykwon Thompson, wife and son of fallen Soldier Staff Sgt. Anthony Thompson, reveal the plaque for the Orangeburg Army Reserve Center named after Anthony Feb. 21. Anthony, a native of Orangeburg, died in combat while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. "Naming the center in a public event, like the one we are hosting, is to honor both the service of Staff Sgt. Thompson and the support from this community and Army families," said Maj. Gen. Janet Cobb, commander, 81st Regional Support Command. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Kandi Huggins, 81st Regional Support Command, Public Affairs)
