Artillery provides suppressing fire from multiple kilometers away Feb. 9 at Marine Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, during the Battalion Assault Course as part of Integrated Training Exercise 2-15. Artillery fire allows other ground combat elements and aerial combat elements to move during combat without taking fire from the enemy. The Marines firing are with 1st Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, but are currently attached to 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force for ITX 2-15.
